I am basically porting an environment which worked perfectly under my XP environment but fails to work in my new W8.1 environment. I am struggling with having a M-Audio 49e MIDI keyboard (USB connected) recognized by a music editor programme Encore 5, even after studying various threads discussing similar issues which do not seem to be uncommon after W8.1 qwas introduced.
